Kemendag was formerly known as Departemen Perdagangan (commonly abbreviated as Depdag) or the Department of Trade. The Ministry's head office is registered at Jl MI Ridwan Rais No 5, Central Jakarta 10110. Kemendag is headed by a Minister of Trade. In 14 February 2014, the President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono officially named Muhammad Lutfi as the Ministre of Trade to replacing Gita Wirjawan who resigned on January 2014. The organizational structure of The Ministry of Trade of The Republic of Indonesia consist of 5 directorate generals (DG) and 2 agencies, namely DG of Domestic Trade, DG of Standardization and Consumer Protection, DGof Foreign Trade, DG of International Trade Cooperation, DG of National Export Development, Commodity of Futures Trading Regulatory Agency, Trade Policy Analysis and Development Agency.
