The centre of Kota Tangerang Selatan is the Ciputat district. According to Statistic Indonesia (BPS) 2010, the City of South Tangerang was reported as having a population of 1,303,569 people. The City of South Tangerang is lead by a Mayor, and since 2011 held by Airin Rachmi Diany and assisted by Benyamin Davnie as a vice mayor.
