Rigging Manager

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor Degree
• 3-5 years experience in Oil & Gas Rigging equipment.
• Must be a Liscensec Professional Engineer (P.Eng)

Responsibilities

Major responsibilities of the riging manager are:

• Managing the set up and take down of rigging
• Adherence to safety practices.
• Coordination of the rigging crews,
• Management of the day-to-day drilling activities.
• Adherence to environmental and other government laws and policies
• Conducting prep work prior to rig set up.
• Handling personnel issues
• Managing and Perform Crane layouts for proposals pricing, estimates and resource needed for lifting and rigging equipment to align with Project requirements.
• Prepare rigging drawings, calculations and procedures related to the systems selected for the execution of project work. Compile all into a consolidated “Rigging / Lifting Studies”.
• Developing designs for temporary structures and rigging systems to be used in the execution of heavy rigging projects
• Responsible for reviews and approvals of all sub-contract lifting and rigging plans including verifications of rigging certifications, ground bearing calculations, crane lifting capabilities and clearances.
• Perform rigging studies for defining methods and project equipment requirements
• Provide input to the project planning activities at various stages (related to lifting and transportation aspects).
• Develop rigging plans (medium lift, heavy lift, heavy haul, and critical) and perform engineering design calculations.
• Review and approve heavy haul, critical, and heavy lift rigging plans -Ensures safe rigging operations at the project site.
• Provide field supervision and execution of the heavy haul and heavy lift operations.
• Ensure compliance with company Rigging Standard Work Process Procedures at the jobsite.
• Support loading and unloading operations, including roll-on and roll- off operations
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractor work at the job site

Primary Function:

• Rigging Engineer Manager performs a variety of complex construction rigging duties to support various Projects. Candidate provides technical support to Construction/Constructability team and construction review and approval of lifting plans for projects not exceeding those categorized as “high and critical risk”.

Responsibilities :

• Providing both home office and site support, with a primary focus on heavy lift planning and rigging design.
• Responsible for basic mechanical package reviews, customized rigging attachment/bracing design, heavy cranage budget creation, client specification development, and the management of project's heavy lift program.
• Liaise with other technical disciplines, project management, clients, other contractors, sub-contractors, etc.
• Working with planning and design staff on product design and tooling to ensure efficient production processes.
• Analyzing space requirements and workflow, and designing the layout of equipment and workstations to ensure maximum efficiency and an ergonomically sound work environment.
